What would you do if you were the bride? Twitter user @tobicomm shared this story on twitter:
People were trying to talk to the pastor to free, groom even stood up to go talk to the guy, he insisted talmbout "I will walk away". Bride had to stand up to go apologize, but after the ceremony she was so so pissed to the point of tears.— Tobi (@tobicomm)
Apparently, the bride took some time coming in because she was getting her make up done. For some, this is a regular thing seeing that the make up has to be perfect for that day. However this pastor seemed to think otherwise. He must have been so pissed as he demand, insisted even that she kneel down and apologize to the congregation.
There was a little back and forth with people trying to get the Pastor to change his mind but he was adamant. Either-you-kneel-or-I-walk-away type reaction. When she (and everyone else) realized that the Pastor wasn’t budging, she did as he asked but was so pissed that she broke into tears.
As usual, when you put this kind of story on Twitter, you can be sure the voltrons will come out to play. The reactions were interesting to say the least:
LMFAO!! Couldn't be my bride.
Na me for shout. "Walk away then!!"— Banter Claus (@ElJefe__)
That kneeling down was taking it too far. He could have even talked about the whole thing as a joke and had everyone laugh over it.— Tobi (@tobicomm)
That's sad but I wouldn't let it spoil my day. Well, I would do that cus where I come from, brides actually kneel during weddings for the pastor and elders to pray for the bride.— ßαdz • (@mysticposh)
While it seems like everyone is on the side of the bride, we decided to look at it from the point of view of both parties.
BRIDE
Everyone wants to have the perfect wedding day from the dress to the make up, reception venue, everything has to be perfect. But as anyone who has had their make up professionally done knows how long it takes to get it done. So while she might have tried to hurry the make up artist along, there’s only so much she could have done to hasten the process.
PASTOR
Men of God are usually at the receiving end of the respect spectrum. We figure that this man of God might have felt offended by the bride keeping him waiting. People argued that he is rendering a service and as a result should have been patient with the bride but a man of God hasn’t been subject to the control of a make up artist and as such, might not understand why he’ll be kept waiting for something as ‘trivial’ as makeup.
What do you think? Did the pastor take it too far? Let us know in the comments section.
