Senator Melaye buys N180m supercar amid recession

– Dino Melaye has unveiled a new car worth about N180million even as Nigerians are complaining about the recession 
– The new car is a 93-year-old Rolls Royce that he reportedly bought in Las Vegas, United States two years ago 
– Melaye is preparing to show off the supercar at the national assembly this week

Controversial senator representing Kogi Central senatorial district Dino Melaye has bought a new supercar which is worth about N180million.

Premium Times reports that Melaye, who already owns a fleet of luxury and antiquated cars worth billions of Naira, has acquired a 93-year-old Rolls Royce.

The Rolls Royce has the customized license plates “MELAYE 2” and is believed to cost some $400,000. It quoted a source as saying that the car was purchased in Las Vegas, United States of America years ago but he only just released the photographs of the vehicle as he prepared to exhibit the exotic model at the National Assembly this week.

“Senator Dino Melaye is very smart. He actually got the car from Las Vegas two years ago. At that time, he was busy committed with anti-graft crusade as Executive Secretary of Anti-Corruption Network (ACN) but decided to keep it in secrecy,” the source said.

Melaye reportedly has at least 28 of the expensive cars parked at his residence in Maitama Abuja. In February, Melaye revealed a 2015 Slingshot estimated to cost about N4.78 Million and in September, he arrived at a Senate function in Abuja in a Mercedes Benz 190 (1958 Model) with customized number plate “KOGI DINO 10” and a Hindustan Ambassador, used for his security aides.

Meanwhile, Senator Dino Melaye has recommended the provision of presidential pardon to militants and looters of the country’s treasury. The senator advised President Muhammadu Buhari in his Independence Day message released on Sunday, October 2. Melaye urged Nigerians to continue to support the federal government as it tried to find solution to the country’s problem.
