Comedian Ayo Makun popularly known as AY, ever since he came on scene last decade, has continued to make his mark as an entertainer.
Asides being a successful comedian, he has managed to move seamlessly into movie and TV production. In the course of achieving his own dreams, he has impacted the lives of other comedians. Here is why he is a a national treasure.
1. AY has discovered many comedians through his AY Open Mic Comedy Club AY is the ‘father’ of many upcoming and established comic acts that are doing well in the industry today. The comedian helped discovered and nurtured careers of many comedians through his now rested monthly AY’s Open Mic Comedy Club that held every second Sunday of the month. AY started the Open Mic Comedy Club in July 2010. Among the comedians are Akpororo, Seyi Law, Emeka Smith, Pencil, Ushbebe, Ajebo, Elenu and others.
2. He put Nigeria on the map with a Guinness World Records
Another reason AY is a national treasure is through his venture into Nollywood. His first shot at movie making earned him a Guinness world records. His movie 30 Days In Atlanta has been officially recognized by the 2017 Guinness World Records as one of the films with the highest domestic gross in Nollywood.
3. He helps people on Instagram
On Sunday, July 3, 2016, top comedian, AY Makun won more hearts with the kind gesture he extended to a physically challenged young man. Many had expected that the comedian will shun the request but he shocked fans when he told him: “You are able to do all things in the presence of God and man. I am your friend from this day.
